These gorgeous kid suede leather evening gloves were made in France for Jay’s of Regent Street, London. With extremely fine and perfect stitching on all seams, they are made from the softest ivory suede and finished with a single pearly button at the wrist. They are a size 6¼ and measure approximately 40cm from the top edge to the end of the middle finger. The logo printed on the inside of the glove indicates that they came from Jay’s, a well-known clothier that used to stand on the corner of Oxford and Regent Street, which held the royal warrant to Queen Alexandra. It’s believed that these gloves were made in the 1930s and they appear to have been rarely worn, if at all, and it’s very rare to find vintage gloves in such fabulous condition. There is one tiny pinhole, as shown in photo no.6 and slight abrasion to the leather, as per photo no. 5., however, these very minor defects are likely to be natural features of the leather. Very desirable and very collectible!
