This stunning little pair of cuffs date from the mid to late 1800s and are entirely handmade. The delicate broderie anglaise edging is also worked by hand, as are the buttonholes. Cuffs, collars, and sleeves were often separate accessories in the 1800s and earlier, as it allowed you to make your outfits fancier for occasions or worship without risking them getting dirty or damaged when working. It’s also quite hard to find a matching pair in good condition.
These are in exceptional condition and could be – very gently – worn by someone with quite slender wrists.
This would be a gorgeous addition to a wide range of projects or a lovely part of a collection.
All items are presented as clearly as possible with all known faults pointed out. However, due to the antique nature of these items, please allow for signs of age.
