Pair of antique silk knit mitts. Tan wrist with light blue thread at edge, pink polka dotted black hand framed by a yellow stripe, followed by tan stripe trimmed with blue knit lace at fingers. Condition is with issues. There is a tear on one thumb, broken blue trim around top of thumbs, and separation between the blue edging and glove (could be reattached with about twelve delicate stitches), age soiling, and may have other minor imperfections. All seams are hand stitched and it appears there were some early repairs to the seams at the thumbs done in a brown thread. Not the very best condition but they are one of a kind and unique in the way of mitts. These date to circa 1860s Cambridge, Massachusetts area. If one is to wear them, the fit is for about a size 7 glove hand and should be put on very gingerly. They measure 2-3/4″ across palm, 3″ across wrist, 7/8″ across thumb, and are 5″ long.
