These are hand knitted wrist warmers, hand warmers, arm warmers, fingerless gloves. They go by many names.
I knit with two strands of yarn which makes my wrist warmers super-warm and strong. This pair is one of the chunkiest pairs I have ever knit!
One strand is Noro (a wonderful Japanese yarn company) 45% silk, 40% cotton, and 15% wool. The second strand (the solid pink) is Debbie Bliss 55% merino wool, 33% microfiber and 12% cashmere.
I Love the pink and green combination, and the colors are brighter than they show in the photos.
Wrist warmers are great for driving in the winter and for general outside wear when the weather is cold, but not freezing. They are also great for outdoor activities over thinner leather gloves. Wrist warmers are also great looking with winter coats and rain coats– just that bit of color peeking out from your sleeves.Lots of people who use computers a lot like to wear wrist warmers when they work inside at the keyboard.
All the yarns in this pair are soft, yet firm. I would give these warmers a softness rating of 8/10 (with 10/10 being the most super soft wool like cashmere or baby alpaca).
Sizing: (Medium-Small) Around the palm, approximately 6.5″ – 7.5″, stretching to 9″. Length, approximately 8.5″.Since these are so thick, they do fit snugly.
Care: Hand wash in cool water (with shampoo or Woolite or Orvis), rinse well, squeeze out in a towel and dry flat.
No two pair I knit are ever the same! You won’t meet anyone with wrist warmers like yours! You can be stylish and practical, with warm hands and able to still use your fingers!
Almost all my knitted projects come from “orphan” skeins of yarn. These are left-over skeins in knitting store sale bins and skeins left over from other folks’ projects that I find in thrift stores and at rummage sales. Because I am able to buy excellent and interesting yarns at reasonable prices, I can knit very high quality items. And, because I only have one or two skeins of each yarn, no two pair are ever the same. It keeps me from getting bored.
We are a pet friendly household (short haired cat and short haired chihuahua). I am scrupulous with my lint roller, and have carefully kept the items away from the pets, but, if this could possibly be an issue for you, please pass on this item.
